  • How do I know if I need therapy?

Therapy is helpful for everyone, not just individuals who are experiencing hardships. Having the opportunity to discuss your life experiences, relationships, and emotions in a non-judgmental space allows personal reflection and healing that is beneficial for us all.

  • Will my insurance cover the cost of my sessions?

Yes! Believe it or not, because of the increased awareness and need, most insurance providers cover virtual mental health sessions. Don't hesitate to reach out or schedule a free virtual consultation to discuss plan details and eligibility of benefits.

  • What insurance plans are accepted?

    Insurance plans accepted:

    - Aetna

    - Anthem

    - BHS | Behavioral Health Systems

    - BlueCross and BlueShield

    - Cigna

    - Humana

    - Medicaid (Carolina Complete, HealthyBlue, and Amerihealth Caritas)

    - Medicare

  • How do I know if my therapist is a good fit?

Finding a therapist that you feel is a good fit may sometimes seem overwhelming. Remember, we will not take offense if you decide to shop around. If you’re willing to shop around for the car that best fits you, don’t hesitate to do the same when finding a therapist who will help you discover your best self! The goal is to find a therapist who makes you feel comfortable sharing personal information in a safe space, without fear of judgment.

  • What can I expect in my first session?

During the first session, the therapist will complete an intake evaluation. The evaluation is different from a therapy session because it is used to collect background information and identify a preliminary diagnosis. The information gathered during this meeting will assist in the therapeutic process by ensuring an approach best-suited for the client’s individual therapy goals.

  • How long does a therapy session last?

Typically sessions are 45-50 minutes long.

  • How often will I have a therapy session?

Frequency of sessions can range from once a week to once a month. Based on the need and availability, sessions may occur twice a week if client and therapist agree there is a need for more frequent visits. Keeping in mind the importance of a close therapeutic relationship and the hands-on approach of treatment, clients are required to attend at least one session per month.

  • How long will I be in treatment?

The length of treatment varies based on client’s specific need. Clients may notice an improvement in 2-3 sessions, while others may engage in therapy for 2-3 years. Regardless of how long you decide to remain in treatment, it is advised that the final session be planned. Planned termination of treatment is associated with better outcomes.
